What is a monitored control room?

A control room is a custom built facility used to monitor security systems. The Threat Protect control room has the highest possible rating in Australia and monitors tens of thousands of systems Australia wide. The Safe Haven app connects you to our control room, where our trained staff receive your alert, and then take care of your pre-set action plan, calling you, your contacts, or deploying a security guard to your location (city metro areas only). Our control room has built-in redundancy, with backup power, backup Internet connectivity and high security.

How do you determine my location?

We locate you the most accurate way we possibly can - using the location services provided on your phone, including GPS. Location tracking uses a combination of GPS co-ordinates and local WiFi/3G networks to pinpoint your location. Is is essential that you follow the instructions given by the Safe Haven app to activate your smart-phone's location services. If for any reason your phone's location services are not active, we try to determine your location by speaking to you and your emergency contacts, in order to build an accurate picture of your most recent movements.

Which to use - Triple Zero or Safe Haven?

Activate Safe Haven whenever you feel a threat, so your emergency contacts can be made aware of your situation and come to your aid.

Triple Zero is for emergencies, when police, fire or ambulance are needed. For instance:

  • Is someone seriously injured or in need of urgent medical help?
  • Is your life or property being threatened?
  • Have you just witnessed a serious accident or crime?

In any of these situations, always call Triple Zero as you normally would, but activate Safe Haven as well so we can carry out your pre-set action plan to notify your contacts. This is an essential fallback in the event that there's a delay in the response of the emergency services, or if they determine that the reason you’ve called doesn’t constitute an emergency - you’d be surprised how often this is the case. By doing both, you’ll be leaving nothing to chance.

From what locations do you provide guard call-outs?

As part of your pre-set action plan, you have the option for a guard to attend your location. Guard call-outs are available across the large majority of Australia's populated areas, at a cost of $150. Click here to see our location map.
